Holographic gratings in photorefractive polymers without external electric field

In Photorefractive Fiber and Crystal Devices: Materials, Optical Properties, and Applications Iii — 1997, pp. 2-7
From

Department of Physics, Technical University of Denmark1

Using anomalous large diffusion we report a recording of reflection type gratings in a PVK-based photorefractive polymer without any external electric field. The diffraction efficiency of the gratings was measured to be 7%. An efficient modulation of beams during two-beam coupling up to 12% was demonstrated by using the phase modulation technique.

This practical scheme can be used in dynamic vibration measurements.
