Optical fronthauling for 5G mobile: A perspective of passive metro WDM technology

We discuss the necessity of passive WDM technology in the 5G fronthaul application. The proof-of-concept field trial showed that the proposed system integrated seamlessly with the current wireless equipment and had no impact on services.
