The Regeneration Cycle of Cobalt Chemical Conversion Waste Liquid on Aluminum Alloys

In this research, the regeneration cycle of cobalt chemical conversion waste liquid, the effects of oxidizing agents on solution service life, and the influence of oxidizing agents on the treatment of waste liquid was studied by the electrochemical performance test. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical properties analysis was used to study conversion coatings. It was determined that the best oxidizing agent for the cobalt chemical conversion waste liquid was 9 g/L KBrO3. Conversion coatings were thicker and had a higher density when the specific gravity of r...

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cobalt Alloy Coating Deposited by Electro-Spark

Stellite190 cobalt alloy coating was deposited on 45 carbon steel by electro-spark deposition. Formation mechanism, microstructure, phase composition and mechanical properties of the coating were researched, fracture mechanism of the coating was analyzed. The results indicate that, the coating has dense and well distributed microstructure, mainly composed of Co, (CoCrW)6C, Cr7C3. The coating presents excellent mechanical properties with a tensile strength of 731.83 MPa, a bonding strength of 213.01 MPa and good peeling resistance. The mechanism for tensile f...

Bifacial dye-sensitized solar cells with transparent cobalt selenide alloy counter electrodes

. Therefore, the fabrication of a transparent counter electrode (CE) with a high electrocatalytic activity is a prerequisite to realize this goal. We present here the feasibility of utilizing transparent cobalt selenide (Co–Se) binary alloy counter electrode for bifacial DSSC application, in which binary

Solvent–thermal preparation of nanocrystalline pyrite cobalt disulfide

Nanocrystalline pyrite cobalt disulfide has been successfully prepared using the solvent–thermal method by the reaction of anhydrous CoCl2 with Na2S3 at 180 °C, which is similar to the well known hydrothermal process, except that toluene is substituted for water. The sulfur-to-metal ratio

Magnetic field driving gradient effects on the microstructure in amorphous-nanocrystalline cobalt alloy ribbons

Field effects on the early crystallization of Co-rich amorphous ribbons (Co(68.15)Fe(4.35)Si(12.5)B(15), atomic%) performed at 450 °C for 30 minutes in an applied 10 Oe longitudinal or transverse external magnetic field are investigated by comparing with the as-spun and annealed samples in zero applied magnetic field. Results indicate that the crystallization on the surface skin of the ribbon d...

Formation of binary alloy cluster ions from group-14 elements and cobalt and comparison with solid-state alloys

By using laser ablation on mixtures of transition metal cobalt and group-14 elements, binary alloy cluster anions were produced while no binary alloy cluster cations were detected, and the homocluster cations of group-14 elements appeared at very low abundance. The differences between clustering

Kinetic study of electroless cobalt deposition on WC particles

The cobalt coating with an average thickness of 15–20 nm was uniformly plated on the surface of ultra-fine WC powders by electroless plating in the present work. The effects of electroless plating condition parameters on the deposition rate were studied. It was found that the deposition rate
