Bouncing droplets on a fluid surface have recently been shown to provide a surprising analogy to quantum behaviour. Here we discuss the limitation of this analogy in the context of the double-slit experiment, which our colleagues and we have analysed in a recent paper [Phys. Rev. E 92, 013006 (2015)].

The present paper is based on the talk given by Tomas Bohr at the XX Congreso de la División de Dinámica de Fluidos, Sociedad Mexicana de Física, Centro Mesoamericana de Física Teórica, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, November 2014.
