Abstract
Macroscopic sub-division of {001}〈110〉 orientation Al–1%Mn single crystals following rolling deformation is characterised by patterns of strong TD rotations over varying length scales. The structure evolves towards a pattern, at intermediate strains, of two highly extended transition bands, either side of a very heterogeneous central region.
