Current Developments in Electrophoretic and Chromatographic Separation Methods on Microfabricated Devices

From

Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology, Technical University of Denmark1

Microchip-based separation techniques are essential elements in the development of fully integrated micro-total analysis systems, which are envisioned to become powerful instruments for obtaining and assessing analytical data in research, industry, and everyday life. This article's goal is to give a brief overview of current developments in electrophoretic and chromatographic separation methods on microfabricated devices, and highlight some of the trends emerging from recent research results (published or pre-published before November 1999).
