DTU International Energy Report 2012: Energy efficiency improvements: A key element in the global transition to non-fossil energy

From

Department of Management Engineering, Technical University of Denmark1

Increased energy efficiency can reduce global CO2 emissions over the period to 2050 with up to 25%. On the top of that large profits can be gained for very little investment. Energy efficiency improvements can save investment in new energy infrastructure, cut fuel costs, increase competitiveness and increase consumer welfare.

Thus, it is natural for DTU International Energy Report 2012 to take up this issue and analyze the global, regional and national challenges in exploiting energy efficiency and promote research and development in energy efficiency.
