Low-Cost and High-Spectral-Efficient Co-Transmission Integrating 28-Gbaud PAM-4/NRZ and 5G-mmW ARoF

By filling the spectral null of 2-bit-DAC-generated 28-Gbaud PAM-4/NRZ with 8times 400-MHz 5G-standardized mmW signal, we demonstrate 25-km digital-analog-integrated co-transmission using a single Mach-Zehnder modulator to efficiently serve PON and mobile fronthaul on a single wavelength in C-band, without employing optical amplifier or cell-side frequency conversion.
