Chemical stability of choline-based ionic liquids supported on carbon materials
Highlights► The chemical stability of supported ILs was studied before application as catalysts. ► Carbons with differences in textural and chemical surface properties were prepared. ► Choline-based ILs (anion: [Ala],[Ser],[Pro],[MeSO3],[2-MeBu]) were supported on carbons. ► Carbon surface oxygen groups and IL anion composition strongly influence on chemical stability. ► A lower support surface area and a pure carbon surface significantly increases chemical stability.
