Book chapter

Basic SCTA techniques

In Sample Controlled Thermal Analysis. Origin, Goals, Multiple Forms, Applications and Future — 2004, pp. 16-61
From

Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Technical University of Denmark

Our aim, in this chapter, is to introduce the reader to the principle of operation, measurement and, sometimes also, data processing concerning the basic SCTA techniques used until now. For the sake of clarity, we shall follow the same order as in our listing of SCTA techniques in Chapter 2, i.e. based, as much as possible, both on logic and chronology.

The headings of the paragraphs will use the simplest names suggested by the framework of Chapter 2, but the titles initially used by each author will also be reminded. We hope that, in this way, both logic and history will be satisfied.
