This paper focuses on digital aids for sight impairment and motor disabilities. We propose an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for discovering nearby items, getting their status, and interacting with them by e.g. voice commands or gaze gestures. The technology is based on Bluetooth Low Energy, which is included in consumer electronics such as smartphones without requiring additional hardware.

The paper presents a prototype platform illustrated by concepts of use.
