•We modelled habitat suitability of humpback and Antarctic minke whales.•We produced daily, basinwide/circumpolar prediction maps of habitat suitability.•Both species show considerable changes in habitat suitability throughout the season.•Prediction maps provide a valuable pre-cruise planning tool for seismic surveys.•Prediction maps allow to minimize impact of acoustic noise on Antarctic cetacean species.
