Implementation of video-based instruction on the experimental work of experimental fluid mechanics course
The effectiveness of experiential learning depends on the understanding level achieved by students upon performing the experiments. The level can be enhanced by getting the students to be more prepared and allocating more time for performing the experiments and valuable discussions between them and the instructors.
This can be done by providing the students with video-based instructions prior to the lab session. This approach was implemented on one of the experiments during the Experimental Fluid Mechanics course, from which the students’ feedback have been collected. The survey shows that this approach is useful and should be fully adopted for the rest of the experiments.
