Experiments with Replacement of Inverter Fed Drives in a Danish Power Station
Maintaining low voltage inverter fed drives in operation can often require complete replacement of both the frequency converter and the induction motor. This paper presents a case with refurbishment of 13 years old drives, where the owner wanted to keep the old motors and only replace the frequency converters.
This paper presents measurements conducted after a year and a half of operation. No failure has yet been experienced, thus existing motors was kept when inverters were changed.
