Hydrogen Pellet-Rotating Plasma Interaction: A Spectroscopic Analysis

From

Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Technical University of Denmark1

Spectroscopic measurements on the interaction between solid hydrogen pellets and rotating plasmas are reported. It was found that the light emitted is specific to the pellet material, and that the velocity of the ablated H-atoms is of the order of l0^4 m/s. The investigation was carried out with a view to the possible refuelling of fusion reactors by the injection of pellets.
