Location-dependent lattice rotation and shear strain in rolled aluminium single crystals of cube and goss orientations
Plasticity analysis has shown that a relationship can exist between the shear strain imposed on a crystal during rolling, and rotation of the crystal around a transverse direction (TD). This relationship has been used for cold-rolled crystals of cube and Goss orientations to estimate the location-dependent shear strain based on a local crystallographic measurement by electron back-scattering patterns (EBSPs).
For different rolling conditions at different reductions, the location-dependent shear strain has been used in an analysis of the macroscopic subdivision of the crystals and of their orientation stability during cold-rolling.
