Temperature–parasitism synergy alters intertidal soft-bottom community structure
Department of Bioscience, Aquatic Biology, University of Aarhus, Ole Worms Allé 1, DK-8000 Aarhus C, Denmark
•We assess effects of increased temperature and parasitism on a benthic community.•The key-stone amphipod host (Corophium volutator) decreased significantly.•The zoobenthic non-host community also changed through direct and indirect effects.•Parasitism mitigates negative effects of increased temperature on faunal diversity.•The plant community (diatoms) was rather resilient to experimental perturbations.
