Supported ionic liquid-phase (SILP) catalysis: Heterogenization of homogeneous rhodium phosphine catalysts

In Ionic Liquids Iiib: — 2005, pp. 334-349
From

Department of Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark1

The concept of supported ionic liquid-phase (SILP) catalysis has been demonstrated for gas- and liquid-phase continuous fixed-bed reactions using rhodium phosphine catalyzed hydroformylation of propene and 1-octene as examples. The nature of the support had important influence on both the catalytic performance, i.e. activity and selectivity, as well as stability of the SILP catalysts.

Noticeably, a high catalyst ligand content together with presence of ionic liquid solvent are prerequisites for obtaining selective rhodium phosphine SILP catalysts systems.
