All-optical wavelength multicasting with extinction ratio enhancement using pump-modulated four-wave mixing in a dispersion-flattened nonlinear photonic crystal fiber
All optical wavelength multicasting at 4 x 10 Gb/s with extinction ratio enhancement has been demonstrated based on pump-modulated four-wave mixing in a nonlinear photonic crystal fiber. We show that the input signal wavelength can simultaneously convert to four different wavelengths, with a power penalty of 1 dB for all channels in the 10 Gb/s bit-error-rate measurements.
With the extinction ratio enhancements properties, a degraded signal obtains 6- and 3-dB improvements in the extinction ratio and the power penalty, respectively.
