H-2 oxidation at the interface Ni/Sr0.995Ce0.95Y0.05O2.975
The oxidation of hydrogen at the interface of nickel and the perovskite proton conductor Sr0.995Ce0.95Y0.05O2.975 has been investigated at 800 degrees C and below in atmospheres of N-2/H-2/H2O, using a point contact electrode technique. The polarisation behaviour obtained in the anodic regime suggested the transport of a species undergoing one electron transfer.
Limiting currents were dependent on the partial pressure of hydrogen, but not on that of water vapour.
