In the version of this Article originally published, in the sentence beginning “We also found that the PL intensity...”, the values of the laser fluence (in W μm–2) were incorrect: ‘8 × 104’ and ‘5 × 105’ should have been ‘8 × 10–4’ and ‘5 × 10–5’, respectively. Furthermore, in the units of the x-axis labels of Extended Data Fig. 4 and Supplementary Fig. 6, ‘105’ should have been ‘10–5’.
