Virtual enterprise architecture and methodology - Initial results from the Globeman21 project
This paper will focus on presenting the initial results from the IMS project Globeman21 regarding generic models for Extended Enterprise Management (EEM). In particular the paper outlines a proposed architecture for the creation of virtual enterprises, industrial requirements regarding the generic models, terminology for describing extended enterprises, and initial considerations regarding a methodology for EEM.
Globeman21 see the extended enterprise as a concept covering the totality of different concepts dealing with the expansion or extension of enterprise activities. One way of realising the concept of extended enterprise is through the creation of virtual enterprise, based on a more or less formalised network.
This approach is the basis for the development of the generic EEM model within Globeman21.
