This workshop described the EUROPA project, an EU-funded program aimed at creating a web-based database of molecular sequence data-sets related to significant pathogens of aquaculture. The project aims to focus the efforts of fish health researchers into generating large, evolving and readily available data-sets suited to the purpose of molecular epidemiology.

This workshop reviewed the progress of this project, demonstrated the scope of the database developed to date, and sought input regarding the future development of this resource.
