A new multi-frequency Validation Standard (VAST) antenna covering upper microwave (K/Ka) and millimeter wave (Q/V) bands, and thus called mmVAST, was developed in cooperation between DTU and TICRA under contract from the European Space Agency. In this paper, the mechanical and electrical requirements as well as the design and manufacturing of the mm-VAST antenna are briefly presented.
The focus is then given to the details of conducted mechanical and electrical tests aimed at verifying the performance of the manufactured antenna and to the obtained measurement results.
