Slot-dimer babinet metamaterials as polarization shapers for terahertz waves
We theoretically study optical properties of free-standing metallic membranes patterned with an array of two-slot elements (dimers) comprising two rectangular slots of different dimensions and orientation. It is shown that these structures feature extraordinary optical transmission with strong and spectrally selective polarization conversion capabilities.
The output polarization is highly dependent on the dimer geometry, which can be used in the design of compact polarization shapers for terahertz waves.
