Abstract
Highlights► Discard data of plaice from Danish trawlers in the period 1998–2008 were analysed. ► Discards decreased with increasing mesh size. ► Discards were lower in the Northern North Sea. ► A high proportion of discards occur directly below and above minimum landing size.
