The interface structure of a Ni/YSZ electrode tested for 1300 hours in steam electrolysis mode is analyzed. We break down the electrode interface structure measurements into total phase interfaces (e.g. total pore surface area), two-phase interfaces (e.g. Ni/YSZ interface area) and triple-phase boundaries and further analyze these based on their percolation to electron, ion and gas sources.

The measurements are compared to previous related work. ©2011 COPYRIGHT ECS - The Electrochemical Society
