Impact Study of Electric Vehicle (EV) Integration on Medium Voltage (MV) Grids
The impact study of electric vehicle (EV) grid integration on medium voltage (MV) grids was carried out to quantify the power component loading and voltage profile change in MV grids due to the extra demands from the EV charging. Three charging scenarios, dumb charging, time charging and fleet operator based charging, were considered in the impact study to assess the impacts of different charging options.
In the mean time, different charging power levels were included in the impact study as well. A MV grid from the Bornholm power system was used to implement the case studies.
