Teletraffic performance Analysis of Multi-band Overlaid WCDMA Systems
Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) systems are considered to be among the best alternatives for Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS). In future deployment of WCDMA systems, spectrum overlay among sub-bands with different bandwidth is necessary to support various kinds of services.
In this paper, we present a novel approach for evaluating the teletraffic performance of multi-band overlaid WCDMA systems in terms of time, call, and traffic blocking probabilities of each service class. We convert the radio model into a circuit switched network by introducing the concept of virtual channel so that classical teletraffic theory can be applied.
A service class is modelled as a BPP (Binomial-Poisson-Pascal) multi-rate traffic stream.
