A Fully Differential 2 GHz CMOS Subsampling-Mixer with SC-Amplifier

In Proceedings '97 15th Norchip Conference — 1997, pp. 172-179
From

Department of Information Technology, Technical University of Denmark1

A differential CMOS subsampling-mixer for 2 GHz is presented. The mixer is followed by a offset compensated SC gain stage that converts the differential signal to a ground referred signal. A two phase clock scheme with additional delayed clocks is employed to ensure that the sampling process depends only on one switch.

Measurements and simulations covering Input-referred 3rd Order intermodulation Intercept Point (IIP3) and conversion gain are compared. Measurements showed that frequencies as high as 5GHz could be converted.
