A systematic method for criterion based tuning of inventory controllers based on data-driven iterative feedback tuning is presented. This tuning method circumvent problems with modeling bias. The process model used for the design of the inventory control is utilized in the tuning as an approximation to reduce time required on experiments.
The method is illustrated in an application with a multivariable inventory control implementation on a four tank system.
