Danmarks hidtil største forskningsprojekt om kemikaliers cocktaileffekter, Cocktail, har tilvejebragt nødvendig viden om cocktaileffekter af kemiske stoffer i fødevarer. I projektet er en pålidelig metode eksempelvis skabt til at beregne cocktaileffekter af kemikalier i fødevarer, ligesom en ny strategi til gruppering af kemikalier og vurdering af fødevareemballage og forureninger i fødevarer er udviklet.

Den nye viden er afgørende i en national kontekst, men spiller også en vigtig rolle i videreudviklingen af EU’s kemikaliestrategi.
